WaterAid
WaterAid Australia is a non profit organisation dedicated exclusively to the provision of the safe domestic water, sanitation and hygiene education to the world’s poorest people. WaterAid works by helping local organisations set up low cost, sustainable projects using appropriate technology that can be managed by the community itself.
Clean water is essential for life, but over a billion people do not have it. Help more people gain access to safe water and sanitation by supporting WaterAid and making a donation. To help make a change visit www.wateraid.org.au
Along with our foundation membership, Yarra Valley Water staff have established a volunteer committee to raise funds for the aid agency. To date this group has raised over $400,000 through fundraising activities, including staff wine sales, movie nights, footy handball competitions and direct debit salary donations.
Yarra Valley Water also co-hosts the inaugural WaterAid Australia Ball held annually in an effort to raise additional donations. Funds raised from the inaugural Ball are used for projects that provide safe drinking water and improved sanitation services to over 3,500 people throughout countries like Papua New Guinea, East Timor, Ethiopia and India.
